If someone wants to make a positive comment on my fitness, comment on something like my energy or performance, not on my shape. I exercise, and as I regain my strength after my cancer treatments, I expect to do more and more strength training. I will probably never be thin.

I keep an entire playlist of songs I cannot understand the lyrics to. Some are simply in languages I don't know, like my copy of "The Time Warp" in Finnish or my copy of "Norwegian Wood" in Hindi. But there's also stuff like "Color Pulse" and the Minions version of "YMCA".

I only have one counterexample. My startup was at a conference. We did software. I walked up to the booth of a hardware vendor, and bet them I could port our stuff to their platform live on the show floor in real time. I did. It drew a crowd.

Doug (in the neon shirt) is doing some technical work in front of a crowd of onlookers at a Linux conference back in the first dot com era.

I have an Audible subscription that includes accruing credits. We add a bunch of books to our wishlist, and tick them off as part of the subscription once a month. We make sure to get them faster than we use them up. (When we have enough of a queue, I pick other books.)

Our gigantic Maine Coon girl has a duckie for that. She's a *very* big cat. Nora took a dog toy, a semi-realistic nearly-life-sized duck with a squeaker in it, and took out a squeaker and replaced it with a catnip pouch. She loves that thing.
