Fact of the matter is "hey, I have uncertain feelings about my gender identity I want to discuss with a therapist who can help me make sense of them" and "I would like to change my sex characteristics" are two separate healthcare issues that can and should be provided independent of each other

I can't remember if I read in Stone or Serano the framing that doctors wrote books about how to distinguish the few worthy trans people from the unworthy crowd and then had a profession-wide meltdown when they discovered that trans people can read books

Ultimately, conservatives believe that trans women are women, they just view trans women as an underclass of women that needs to be denied womanhood as a way to scapegoat us You can see in their behavior towards us that they don't actually treat trans women like men
