Antimicrobial resistance is a huge issue and an oft-forgotten killer. It kills more people each year than HIV/AIDS or malaria. This article is fascinating- it points out that while much of the AMR prevention discussion focuses on overuse of antimicrobials, underuse can also be a major issue.

Testing "explainable AI" isn't as simple as it seems. After reviewing 81 papers on AI recommendation systems, research shows most only test if systems are built to spec, but skip crucial real-world effectiveness testing. We need both. Time to raise the bar.
