It would be really great if people could just like or dislike things normally without going completely crazy

I'm fascinated what their vision of the future must be. If everyone has music specifically tailored to them, there are no cultural or social connections to create, and everyone's world becomes smaller and smaller until we are all just in pods interacting with nobody.

I have not really followed mainstream metal for a long time so when a story comes through like 'Former Arch Enemy singer joins Dragonforce' I'm like 'oh those guys are still going??' My main memory of Dragonforce is that they did a lot of gigs drunk so couldn't actually play their super fast solos

Epidemic in this country of folks being unaware of how things work, defaulting to "How hard can it be? I can do that!" This era is going to be remembered for this sort of ignorance and hubris. It's not Dunning-Kruger, but there has to be a term for this.

The film is written, directed, and co-stars Hitoshi Ozawa, a legendary Yakuza actor who is a villain in Yakuza 0, who got his fellow legends involved. This was his passion project inspired by one of his best friends, a trans woman, and he worked with the community for representative casting.

It's really telling that this list has no animation, and the only non-US shows are like 3 British things (two of which are largely crap). Dark and Gravity Falls are better than 75% of the shows on this list on their own

It's much the same as the supermarket forcing closure of smaller groceries and so on. If someone is going to a $200 Ed Sheeran concert they might not go to any other shows for 6 months, whereas you could go to a small show every couple of weeks for that amount

When you read Kraft’s statement, both this headline and the article it links to are enormously misleading. Kraft says he’s been asked to donate, doesn’t say he has, and doesn’t mention any charities. Readers could be forgiven for thinking Kraft had donated to the charities listed in the text.

I think it's really important to make sure people know that this was a PROMOTER decision. The venues were literally not going to open if Macklemore was there. It was either drop him or cancel the entire tour, which affects hundreds of jobs, not just Sheeran's bottom line

None of this covers the real real reason. Twenty years ago, gigs were cheap promotional tools to sell expensive records. Now most people listen to music via streaming and don't buy it, records are free promotional tools for expensive gig tickets.

So I flubbed with autocomplete on an order address, and didn't realise until it was too late. Shipper couldn't do anything, Royal Mail couldn't do anything, and so delivery was attempted at the incorrect address and someone SIGNED FOR IT AS ME. So that's a great time all around I guess.
