Always nice to see a warmup act at a standup show that doesn't spend half the time saying "Bet you hate that there's a warmup"

Just chatting to someone about swans and spent the entire conversation doing my very best to not laugh as I kept remembering the punchline to this

Great show and a fine send-off to something that's been a great weekly listen for the past few years! Well worth braving the GWR network to get into London for.

I thought I was ready... I was not ready for the back half of this one. What a tale!

013

George Bell @devonwhale.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

But yeah, the short version is I had a good time with it, even if it was a bit less "Plague Tale-y" than the previous ones

000

George Bell @devonwhale.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Narratively, I can't help but wonder if the parallel storylines are a trial for doing the same thing with Amica and SPOILER from the very end of Requiem. I'd definitely be up for that, the two interwoven stories were done well, it's one of those things that could easily fall apart but it never does

George Bell @devonwhale.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I guess what I'm wrestling with is whether, if Asobo does another one, is this the new pattern going forward or can we expect a return to the more stealth based gameplay of the previous games. As I say, I enjoyed the combat but there was something about the other game that felt a bit more unique

100

George Bell @devonwhale.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

There's still a lot of good puzzling to be had in there, plus the narrative gets time to shine. There's even a beat near the end that does something really interesting to weave the narrative and the necessity of combat together that I really liked! It's definitely enjoyable

George Bell @devonwhale.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

So I finished Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy today. I wasn't sure going in, I'm a big fan of the stealth-based stuff in the previous games and while I wasn't against them doing more stuff in that world despite the way the ending to Requiem wrapped it up, I was particularly excited by "more combat"

Damn. Recently saw Clue for the first time and was blown away by how much Tim Curry gave to that role. Not that that's surprising, it's how he treated every role. A real loss

Second series of Ludwig is off to a smashing start. A great recurring role for Mark Bonnar in there, always a pleasure when he turns up in something.
