I'm gonna take a look for them in my local stores and I'll let you know.

It particularly depresses me that this generation Nintendo - the masters of reinvention - has been particularly guilty of this.

Very much on this wavelength when it comes to the now prevalent trend of video game remasters. Particularly not at all interested in any game remastered that's less than 10 years old.

Not just a great film; one of the film greats.

Here's a semi-spoilerific trailer for the movie under its US title - Curse of the Demon. I'm very excited to be screening it for you in the Light Fantastic Theatre at 7.30 PM BST on Sunday 4th October: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rwf...

We should treat genAI in publishing the way you’d treat a vampire trying to enter your home. You never give it permission to enter. It doesn’t matter if it‘s polite or makes generous offers or it’s *only* going to take the ones *you* don’t care about. It’s here for your blood. Don’t let it in.

"Men shouldn’t require a daughter, wife, girlfriend or sister before sexual violence against women becomes important to them. Women are enough. And condemning sexual assault shouldn’t qualify anyone for a medal. The bar is on the floor. Step over it."

I have no real love for him specifically, but I'm very much here for any artist who has good principles and stands up for them.

Think it might be time to watch all 9 hours of Get Back again.

Cook and eat with others for the pleasure of companionship and the taste of food. Look out the window for the sake of it. Put the phone away on the bus to work and watch people. Make a drawing in your notebook. Read something new. Life is for living, can't optimize out of death

Oh, and if I don't go see the right screening of the old film I've already seen I won't get to see the right 'major new scene' to set up the new film anyway. 🤷‍♂️

2170

I can't imagine wanting to go see a new film less than one where I have to pay to go see an old film I've already seen, to catch a 'major new scene' they've added to it that sets up the film they're trying to get me to go see next.

This is the same guy who was quoted as saying he'd be happy for AI made material to be broadcast on the BBC last week. Absolutely gutting to watch the steady decline of a once great institution.

Two very cool D3 things happened this week. First up, we're very proud to put out the very first Aaron Spelp comic book, created by the brilliant @jessewhitmoreart.bsky.social. You can purchase and download it on our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/D3Pod/posts/...

The thing is, for me personally at least, I don't think they can come back from this. How can we trust any outlet so willing to dabble in 'the New Establishment'? (We know exactly what that means, guys.)

1201

Print / news / culture media leaning heavily into the whole Weimar vibe is a sure sign that a) they're cowards and b) they really hate you.

Deeply bleak Vanity Fair cover. Poor Florence Pugh stuck as the face of it.

so many people on the internet are so damaged and they deal with it by ascribing the worst possible interpretation to everything they see online and raging at it as though it's what caused the damage in their own lives

The three stars are for competent visual storytelling, but I hated everything else about it. A massive disappointment after Relic.

050

Saccharine is a well enough told story, but relentlessly fat-phobic. Feels like a step down from Relic. Dead by Dawn is a Polish slasher that manages to be both pretentious and goofy at the same time. Bodycam is a shitty found footage movie that wheels out all the tropes.
