lolllll $1.2k in labor and they had the car for only ~2.5 hours. That was both the inspection / regular service it needed and swapping all 4 TPMS sensors. (And I’m pretty sure they marked up the parts too.) I need to find somewhere independent that services EVs because that was a fucking scam.

Stopped off in downtown San Mateo after dropping my parents at the airport and man… I love this place, but so so many bittersweet memories here. :( Wandered the Japanese garden, got coffee, saw random furries I didn’t know and was too shy to say hi to. Miss this place. Miss that time in my life. :/

Oh my god this is hilarious. Meta using Claude to write code (and I agree, the vibe is unmistakably Claude) and their whole agent harness is a container full of hacked-together shell scripts and cron jobs that can just write into its own filesystem. This is an embarrassment to software engineering.

Reminder that pressure erodes the ability to consent. If your “no” feels unwelcome, shameful, or unsafe, then how can your “yes” feel meaningful and authentic? How can you freely give consent, if it is demanded? And if “consent” IS expected, then maybe that’s enough reason, by itself, to say “no”.

I have wasted an entire afternoon trying to digest LLM design-doc slop and I am done. Every single design doc I have read from Claude has been absolute dogshit—stream-of-consciousness, full of unnecessary implementation detail and run-on sentences, impossible to make sense of.

As if this weren't a big enough weekend: I've sent off the next Tab Stash release to Mozilla for approval. This is the biggest one in a while, since Tab Stash now understands Firefox's native tab groups. Feature's been over a year (and a lot of pain) in the making. But I'm happy it's finally ready!

Man, I am… really arguing with myself over where to live. It is kind of hard to justify paying Bay Area prices for a rental right now when Sac is at least $1k/mo cheaper. But I’ve got friends in both places and that makes it so hard to choose. >< Fortunately I have a while before I need to decide.

This is a great article, even if my solution to this for the past 20 or so years has been a healthy diet of building my shit while telling users and other devs to go fuck themselves, a strategy that is not particularly one size fits all.
