Simchat Torah was actually pretty fun. Did some Slivovitz shots with a few members and we thankfully found some volunteers for cleanup. Then stayed late with a couple of kids whose mom lost her car and went looking for where she parked it, and the kids were very cute. I’m working Monday then off.

I worked this week instead of taking time off bc my coworker had to take care of her husband after he fell. He’ll be okay. But I think I’m hitting a wall. Need to be here for Simchat Torah tomorrow night and again Monday morning to help take down the sukkah. The calendar grinding on.

LRP I feel this strongly. My experience as a young person making friends in chat in the 90s probably saved my life. & the queer womyn I got to know later on LJ provided a model of adulthood I had never had access to before. Idk if young folks get similar now but I hope they do it & never goes away.

I dunno, there’s a certain kind of person out there who buys a giant mailing list of all the synagogues (and probably mosques) in the US and sends them each a hand-addressed yet professionally printed pamphlet full of [redacted]. And there’s a type of printer who probably gives them a bulk discount.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I wish modern pedagogy didn’t rely so much on the class discussion format. It should be part of a toolbox and used for certain learning outcomes, but not all. Rn listening to a class taking a 20-questions format that should just be a lecture. V frustrating.

LRT This is interesting to me today because last night at services a few people took out their phones and did a slow circle pan of the packed sanctuary. We had musicians but I don’t know if they did it with music playing. It weirded some people out and we got complaints.
