I think there should be a rule that nothing in the world starts until 10 am, preferably 11 am. That extra burst of sleep at the end matters so much.

About a week out and I’m still healing. Cramps, bleeding, discomfort, fatigue, the whole lot. All of it fairly mild, I’m not suffering badly or anything. But hard to make it through a work day without having to lie down right away.

So tired of sitting in meetings where the majority are women who are doing the labor and one of the only men there is sitting next to me scrolling his phone the entire time. This also is esp bad optics when you are a visibly frum man in a room full of women executives.

Apparently in my absence, email has been voluminous. I went to the wetlands park before work to try touch myself up for coming back and tacking my inbox. Please enjoy some lily pads.

Green and yellow lily pads fill the space.

Lily pads and other plants grow out of the water framed by a walkway and a rusted metal fence/art installation.

The main pond at the park in fall colors with rising sunlight and apartment buildings in the bg.

A stream creates a tiny waterfall on its way to the pond, framed by rocks and vegetation. It makes a nice sound.

The temperature has officially changed with the season; the cat has deigned to fall asleep on me for the better part of a week. Also my family sent a very soft heated blanket for her (pictured) so I like my chances of a trend here.

Procedure went really well. A day later almost all my side effects are gone. Very grateful for what felt like top tier medical care. And to be able to get some rest after. A lot of people are right back at work after a hysteroscopy.

Thank you for the advice! I talked to the anesthesiologist and he told me they used anti-nausea drugs. He was great. No nausea or migraine, and I have no memory at all of the procedure.

cw health again Procedure is tomorrow morning. I haven’t been under anesthesia since I was a little kid, suspect it might result in nausea or migraine. /o\ But I’ll be glad to get these fibroids out. (TMI: I have been bleeding for about 3 weeks now.)

This is well observed. Was talking about this with a friend and she said this is the energy I don’t bring to work, which was interesting. I’m definitely a defensive driver but the customer service-style self regulation isn’t switched on when people do weird things around me in traffic.

Simchat Torah was actually pretty fun. Did some Slivovitz shots with a few members and we thankfully found some volunteers for cleanup. Then stayed late with a couple of kids whose mom lost her car and went looking for where she parked it, and the kids were very cute. I’m working Monday then off.

I worked this week instead of taking time off bc my coworker had to take care of her husband after he fell. He’ll be okay. But I think I’m hitting a wall. Need to be here for Simchat Torah tomorrow night and again Monday morning to help take down the sukkah. The calendar grinding on.

We might still be there but more cars came up behind me that would have blocked her ability to get past the trucks even if I did move, so she backed up. I think I was in the right but there were definitely some moments when I didn’t care how rational I was being lol.

And then we’re nose to nose and it turns out she wants me to pull in in between the two trucks where there are men working when she could just back up and let me pass. I probably could have, but that felt frankly ridiculous and I refused to move until she backed up to let me pass.

Today I was on a 2-way 2-lane street with 2 big moving trucks parked blocking my lane ahead of me. So I went into the empty opposite lane to bypass them. Then there’s this car in the lane ahead of me and instead of just yielding to let me finish passing the trucks she drive forward.

LRP I feel this strongly. My experience as a young person making friends in chat in the 90s probably saved my life. & the queer womyn I got to know later on LJ provided a model of adulthood I had never had access to before. Idk if young folks get similar now but I hope they do it & never goes away.
