A reminder came up in my FB mentions... This one time on October 8th, I went to Genova, Italy, to the house where Christopher Columbus was born and installed a plaque on it, claiming it on behalf of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.

I also wanted to remind people about the Danish dude who wrote the trial protocol, as he has said some truly wild things (I had a “debate” with him about RFK Jr) 🎢 OK, hold on tight, it’s a wild ride First, in the face of massive criticism of his protocol by ethicists, this is what he said…

Asimov's trying to grab all the rights to @donatoarts.bsky.social's work is egregious but it's not in isolation, either. Other publishers are attempting other rights grabs and restrictions that they weren't doing a couple of years ago. Why? Because fuck you, that's why. Remember the power of "no."

Why this startup is taking its AI to predict breast cancer risk directly to patients
A startup didn't want to wait for doctors and insurers to get behind its breast-cancer risk prediction AI. So it's going directly to patients.

It’s hard to believe that CDC Director Dr. Erica Schwartz hasn’t had extensive training in research ethics. That means she’s intentionally going to let babies in Guinea-Bissau be infected with Hepatitis B by withholding vaccine when they have vaccine available.

It’s simply unimaginable that CDC Director Dr. Erica Schwartz has just bowed to RFK Jr. and approved funding for an utterly unethical clinical trial that will withhold the birth dose of HepB vaccine in Guinea Bissau. It is to be conducted by researchers accused of academic misconduct.

Last winter, Soldier Hollow Nordic Center covered an apartment-sized snow pile with insulated blankets in the hope the pile would last through the summer - Utah's hottest on record. This is what happened.

American evangelicalism isn’t so much a religion as a lifestyle brand for right-wing authoritarianism. But insofar as it still pretends to be taking guidance from the scriptures it projects its rancid politics into, Jesus is sort of inconvenient. Doesn’t sound much like Trump or Andrew Tate.

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

Lots and lots of words in tight handwriting, lines of thought in between lines of other thought.Really, too much to go into here.
