I think dad got me No. 1 because I was sick with the flu or something and then I had to see where the story went so it was allowance money or begging mom at the supermarket for the following editions.

I've got this one! And I own maybe a couple dozen comic books. But I got all the early Iron Mans from this reboot or relaunch or whatever it was.

It was about midnight when they noticed Limu was out of his cage and it was an hour after when they found him with his beak stained red and eyes glossy and distant beyond his own sight with flecks of yellow fur and death. Biberty was an affront to god and man but he didn't deserve this, the man said

I remember it being pretty good, though it's been a few years now. I think I remember there being some similarities in style to Laird Barron and Nathan Ballingrud.

I grabbed a copy of Greener Pastures a few years ago and loooooooved the October Film Haunt story in that collection. There were a couple in that book that lingered with me for a few days and Film Haunt was one of them.

I loved CK2 and I don't think I've put nearly enough time into CK3 to properly compare, but I do find the adventurer path really fun if kind of tedious after a couple of generations

I thought it was funny to see CK2 so high up. I think I see you mostly post about HOI4, EU and Stellaris

How do you grabble with Nazi crimes in a game like HOI4? I'm not trying to be snarky. CKII and III also don't really do a good job of grappling with pogroms or the effects of the crusades in like in Worms and Mienz

Yeah, I mean obvious caveats about anecdotal evidence from a very uncool 41-year-old, but I live in NW Montana and I've never heard it or heard people talking about it.

The use I've found for it is replacing a news clerk or librarian. I can give it a name and ask for all prior articles my paper has written about the person. Enough will pop up that I end up with a clip file.

I love that literally every day Alan Wake gets up and decides to venture into the world without a gun or flashlight. Who needs em amiright?????

I mean, it would be funny if we all had to revert to 1990 because the internet has become a poisoned well. There's probably a great short story there

You can get a coffee before or after an interview. In the former, you just need to toss it right before walking in. This isn't difficult

Looking at that list, though, I guess I have terrible taste in TV. Breaking Bad? Sure, but bored by the end. Mad Men? Nope. Game of Thrones? Nooope

Actually I think the one neat trick that Widows Bay uses is "things happen every episode"

Haha I realized after I typed that out that you could be talking about at least four Apple shows. Widows Bay is good.

Yeah the thing about Polk is could you even imagine being bothered to get Congress on board with either annexation or an offensive war these days? Bro would have loved Dark Souls.

I got the first one because I thought it was supposed to be good? Like, really good? Some aspects of it have grown on me and I honestly think I will finish it, but man it's been kind of a letdown. Starting with the flashlight thing.

Derrick Perkins @derricktperkins.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I'll report back if I don't give up. Hitting ghouls with flashlights isn't as fun as ... well ... the developers thought it would be.

I got stranded in Chicago flying back from NH a few weeks ago and while I have some complaints about United, it was incredibly smooth compared to this.
