Aside from the obvious issues, like driving people to catastrophize and just Being Wrong, I feel like this just hallucinates some imagined past where we had overwhelming support. Surely smart activism requires us to accurately acknowledge our circumstances, past and present.

You can see somebody point this out in the thread very clearly. In response, a different survey from a different company (Pew) asking different questions from last year is cited. While it supports the preconceptions here, it isn't the data we're talking about!

This post has been gaining traction and I find it a bit annoying because the core conceit is false. We have data from five years ago from Gallup: The exact same portion of Democrats, 31% said the exact same thing. Why grant undue power to conservative propaganda like this?

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics. It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT. It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse. Transgender care saves lives.
