why would you try to lock down all the big picture elements of your game before going anywhere near polish when you can instead rush into making something that "looks finished" which ends up introducing rigor mortis to the rest of the project that you have to work around. absolute waste of time.

IIRC there was a YouTuber who managed to lose XCOM 2 on his first turn of the first mission. Started on a roof, one of their soldiers got psychic'd by an alien, panicked, and grenaded his own team, blowing up the roof tiles and killing them all from fall damage.

its easy to be cynical about hippies these days but i think peace love and understanding was a pretty understandable reaction to 1. growing up during and immediately after the most destructive conflict in history, and 2. living at the height of the Cold War.

When I lived in the UK none of my concerns e.g. affordable housing, climate action, increases in welfare spending, scrapping tuition fees, an ethical foreign policy, were ever framed as legitimate concerns. lnstead I was routinely told to fuck off by most political parties for having such concerns.

NEARLY done with the pencils for the castle cutaway illustration. Just the gatehouse/portcullis mechanism insert and the layout/map diagram, I think.

Blue pencils over orange roughs showing a very tall castle keep and the walls and towers surrounding it, with the walls and floors cut away to reveal their interiors. There is an inset of another building as well.
