As to a spacious layout, I go for laptops that don't have a numeric keypad crammed in. I never use it anyway, and it pushes the main typing area across to the left which feels awkward and unergonomic. Much better to have it centred under the display. Unless you spend a lot of time entering numbers

I love the detachable keyboard/cover on my MS Surface Pro which is astonishingly good to type on especially given how thin it is. But you might find the screen size of those devices too small. Dell XPS range and above are very good.

The big Technic sets (cranes, diggers etc) that use Hub based motors allow coding, either using Lego's visual block editor or with Python. Many can be rebuilt into GBCs (Great Ball Contraptions) and other dynamic creations that require their own code. Huge fun. Have a look at PV Productions website

The answer for the unions is that each member's dues could be counted as an individual contribution, and not cap the total amount donated by the union. This is weak by Burnham. The cap should be something realistic for the average worker (£1000?), but he can't even bring himself to agree to £500K
