There are a number of questions raised about the sorts of practices conducted by Elections Alberta staff. As one example, it appears that the Elections Alberta staff were not consistently giving their badge numbers to the people whom they call up.

If you are one and the same, it is worth noting that e-petition E-7002, which does pertain to AI, is one that was endorsed by bsky.app/profile/alex... To that end, perhaps someone could submit another attempt at getting the Canadian gov't to make an 'X-it' and seek out Boulerice for endorsement.

Laws could change, if/when a bill passes. But, in the meantime, there may not be a criminal prohibition. Yet, while Evan Solomon talks about how bad nudifying software is, the penalties seem to be in place in a way to hit individuals, when the whole way X/Twitter functions is the bigger problem.

Dee Gee @dee-gee.bsky.social · 14/01/2026
I'm not sure what the status of criminal laws is, in Canada. Non-consensual sharing of actual illegal images may be illegal. I think that legislation pending may make it illegal to distribute AI-generated porn. But only if the law passes. So if the person was 18+ at time of photo ..

With the algorithmic amplifications set up to favour those who engage through edgy, if not cruel, posts, then one might see how this would further tilt the tables against those subject to the creation of wide-scale distribution of AI-based undressed or semi-undressed images.

Dee Gee @dee-gee.bsky.social · 13/01/2026
With funnel-type algorithmic dynamics available at the master's whim, it's free speech for the oligarchs, with their speech potentially being wielded to force their agenda upon everyone else. And all the more so on foreign nationals -- if our politicians continue to let Musk and company do so.

Dee Gee @dee-gee.bsky.social · 13/01/2026
This is about as close as one might get as an admission from Musk himself that Musk has the algorithms rigged. twitter.com/elonmusk/sta... (Warning: PG-13 rating on this, at least.) I think that X/Twitter needs to be viewed as more of a funnel or pseudo-platform than an actual platform.

As per the notion of 'platforms,' a terms which many seem to like to say, or many are scared of not saying, I really think that it's a misnomer. Instead, in the case of Elon Musk's X/Twitter hellscape, it might more accurately be described as a 'funnel.'

And he's shown that he's not shy about meddling in countries where he does not have citizenship, let alone influencing things where he does have citizenship. (I think most Canadians know by now that his first and foremost loyalty isn't to his Canadian identity.)

Plus, Musk, who's obviously politically partisan and very far-right friendly, can keep his system engaging when he wants, and possibly even balanced, at times. But then, he can totally shift the balance right around the time of any election. Or any referendum. Such is the power that he wields.

Since the time of that study, so many people have been fired or laid off from X/Twitter and third parties lack the same access they had to research & transparency tools. So who really knows how much some ppl get amplified over others now in 2026.

I'm looking forward to the video. There are things that need to be said there. There doesn't really even seem to be a solid attempt to rein in the AI-generated 'undressing' via X/Twitter or Grok -- a notion that goes against the direction that our gov't was proceeding. No apology, no effort? Huh?

@evansolomon.bsky.social Any chance that you're going to update the 'Running to be your Liberal Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre' line in your profile? It doesn't suggest that you're the keenest, most up-to-date person when it comes to emerging tech if you can't update this profile line.

Dee Gee @dee-gee.bsky.social · 13/01/2026
As per my understanding, if users use the separate Grok AI app, they can still get it to generate 'undressed' photos, without the users having to pay for it.

Having a 'high crimes and misdemeanors' threshold may be a daunting obstacle, such that no sitting U.S. president has ever been impeached. Whereas, in parliamentary democracies, if a leader is in enough scandal, the party generally sorts things out, finds a new leader before the next gen election.

As I recall, not a single Democrat voted to convict Clinton in the Senate and a few Republican senators may have voted in line with Clinton as well. Looking back, if Clinton had been impeached & convicted, would it have been so bad? Al Gore would have been the incumbent going into election.

30 years ago lying about a blowjob was a convictable offence, you say? While I'm not an American, as I recall, Bill Clinton never got convicted in the Senate for his lie. Nor was he criminally convicted. It was an impeachable offence, but not convictable.
