The answer, as per Google's AI Overview? 'Yes, Google's Gemini can access and read your emails, as well as other Google Workspace data like Drive and Calendar, to provide answers and perform tasks, and this is often enabled by default.

Twitter data appears to support claims new algorithm inflated reach of Elon Musk’s tweets, Australian researcher says

Dr Timothy Graham says his analysis shows that after the algorithm change was reported to have occurred, impressions of billionaire owner’s tweets went up 737%

Josh Taylor * Thursday, February 16, 2023

“It doesn’t bear out that kind of order of magnitude, but definitely something happened,” he said. “[On] the night when Elon Musk reportedly asked his engineers to do stuff … lo and behold, the next morning [there’s] this massive increase in his impressions, and then that’s sustained ever since.”

The graphs show that in the hours when the algorithm change was reported to have occurred, Musk’s impressions went up 737%, and his daily impressions have close to tripled.

The Dept of Cdn Heritage has a whopping 13.2 K posts via X/Twitter. One might hope that a Heritage Bluesky acct could get up and running and get at least a couple of dozen posts. Albeit, if someone at Heritage can get Porto to work, there could be a lot more than a couple dozen posts via Bsky.

As per the Leaders' Debates Commission, their criterion (iii) states: '28 days before the date of the general election, the party has endorsed candidates in at least 90% of federal ridings.'
Leaders’ Debates Commission issues decision on the Green Party of Canada

The Leaders’ Debates Commission has decided to rescind the invitation to the Green Party of Canada to participate in the two leaders’ debates for the 45th general election, for the reasons set out below.
Background

On January 14, 2025, the Commission published the participation criteria for the leaders’ debates for the 45th general election, along with a detailed rationale. In order to be invited by the Commission to participate in the leaders' debates, a leader of a registered political party must meet two of the following criteria:

(i): on the date the general election is called, the party is represented in the House of Commons by a Member of Parliament who was elected as a member of that party.

(ii): 28 days before the date of the general election, the party receives a level of national support of at least 4%, determined by voting intention, and as measured by leading national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations' most recently publicly-reported results.

(iii): 28 days before the date of the general election, the party has endorsed candidates in at least 90% of federal ridings.

It might be worth noting, in passing, that the CBC has been set up to be 'producing, promoting and distributing' the English debate. As such, one might wonder whether a case of deliberately sloppy CBC reporting might be designed to stay in the LDC's good graces, at the Green Party's expense.
Leaders' Debates Commission · @debates_can · Oct 28, 2024

The next leaders' debates (1 in FR & 1 in EN) will be free for media organizations to broadcast. The English debate will be moderated by TVO's Steve Paikin, an experienced journalist & skilled moderator, with CBC producing, promoting, & distributing it.

As per Wes Davis of The Verge, Nov 17, 2024: 'They report that starting around July 13th, Musks’ posts received 138 percent more views and 238 percent more retweets than before that date.'
Elon Musk’s X may have tweaked its algorithm to boost his account, along with those of other conservative-leaning users, starting around the time he announced his support of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. That’s according to a new study published by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), which found that Musk’s posts in particular were suddenly much more popular.

The study’s authors — QUT associate professor in digital media Timothy Graham and Monash University communications and media studies professor Mark Andrejevic — first looked at Musk’s engagement before and after his July endorsement of Trump. They report that starting around July 13th, Musks’ posts received 138 percent more views and 238 percent more retweets than before that date.

As per Zoë Schiffer and Casey Newton of The Verge, Feb 14, 2023: 'The algorithm now artificially boosted Musk’s tweets by a factor of 1,000 – a constant score that ensured his tweets rank higher than anyone else’s in the feed.'
By Monday afternoon, “the problem” had been “fixed.” Twitter deployed code to automatically “greenlight” all of Musk’s tweets, meaning his posts will bypass Twitter’s filters designed to show people the best content possible. The algorithm now artificially boosted Musk’s tweets by a factor of 1,000 – a constant score that ensured his tweets rank higher than anyone else’s in the feed.

Internally, this is called a “power user multiplier,” although it only applies to Elon Musk, we’re told. The code also allows Musk’s account to bypass Twitter heuristics that would otherwise prevent a single account from flooding the core ranked feed, now known as “For You.”

Technically, the @csis.org is not the CSIS that we know in Canada. As with pretty much every other federal government department, Canada's CSIS doesn't have a presence on Bluesky. Canada's CSIS would appear to have presences via Facebook, 'X,' YouTube & LinkedIn. But no Bluesky. :(

Prof. Allan Lichtman in NewsNation interview (Nov 12/24): "..We’ve always had disinformation, but disinformation has exploded to an unprecedented degree. You talked about a grievance election, but a lot of that grievance was driven by disinformation,” Lichtman said[.] thehill.com/homenews/med...

Lichtman blames bad election prediction on disinformation, Elon Musk
by Dominick Mastrangelo - 11/12/24 9:56 AM ET

=====

Lichtman pointed to conservative media platforms and Musk, who poured millions into President-elect Trump’s campaign and has become one of his loudest media cheerleaders, as a factor in his inaccurate prediction.

Musk had helped fuel the spread of false or misleading information online about issues like immigration, hurricane relief and the war in Ukraine, Lichtman said, effectively “putting his thumb on the scales.”

“And you know, as scholars have shown, once you dissolve truth, democracy dissolves along with it, the way authoritarian takes hold, and it’s taking hold all over the world, not just here, is not through force, but through the manipulation of information, as George Orwell warned in 1984 you know, in that dictatorship, war is peace, famine is plenty,” Lichtman said.

As per sharing of articles, Radio-Canada, to its credit, does hide its small social media 'X' icon, for tweeting out an article, under a sort of Forward arrow icon. At least, in this sense, Radio-Canada, unlike its English-language counterpart, is not advertising for Twitter/X to the Xth degree.

#Cdnpoli As per web links for sharing, news outlets -- especially struggling, for-profit news media -- may be motivated to include Twitter/X links for sharing. It's difficult for them, especially given financial pressures that they face. That being noted, take a look at these two screenshots.

One story that took me aback -- and which I only found out about *after* your country's election -- was that Elon Musk really, really had his own tweets amplified. Back in Feb 2023, it was by a 1,000 X amplification factor. (Or, well, I guess it was a 1,000 Twit amplification factor at the time.)
