I am *loving* Nighthawks so far. The writing is *smart*, and NPCs don't do the *convenient* thing for the player character--sometimes, they can be damned *inconvenient* and annoyingly smart, in a "Damnit, how'd you find out I told the doctor THAT??" kind of way. :D

I've been quiet about this one until I had some definite news, but this book is available now!! It's a book that's both taken a long time to come to fruition and a whirlwind of a rush at the same time. Published by Island of Wak-Wak, the same as my poetry chapbook from two years ago.

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of "The Asterist" today. This is not the first @atsayre.bsky.social book I've read; "The Last Days of Good People" was another excellent outing. As in that first book, we have a compelling situation dealing with *genuinely* alien aliens--a rarity!

Going through an archive, previously kept in the digital dungeon that is DVD, of old papers. Here, I found lovingly-preserved submission letter from 1995, to the New England Review. The story is in that archive, too--an attempt at lit fic. It's bad. But the submission letter is an artifact!
