As graphics researchers or geometry teachers, we speak about 3D using screenshots, and that's just sad... What if you could make SLides on top of PolyscOPE? You can using SLOPE! Slope allows you to synchronize a 3D viewer, animated meshes, shaders, live demos, equations (& more) with your slides!

I’ve put together a small set of command-line tools for dealing with DOI mess in BibTeX files and PDFs: - Check DOI/title/author consistency - Add missing DOIs (only for high-confidence matches) - Clean up DOI URLs - Check DOI references directly in PDFs github.com/dcoeurjo/bibtex-doi-checker

I know nothing about GPU programming, so I thought that BSP-OT on the GPU would not work because we are recursive then sequential... I asked Claude to give it a try in CUDA: x10 speed-up 😳 0.4s for 350k points in 3D, with the same quality as the CPU 😱 Here is the code: github.com/baptiste-gen...

Yep I'm been playing with the BSP-OT solver and it is quite fast. The following interpolation is done on 300k samples and only takes a few seconds (but can only find permutations). Generating the GIF/animation is slower than solving the problem.

Ever wondered how badly we're all addicted to buying new GPUs in graphics labs? Come see our talk at #SIGGRAPH2025 to discuss how we can collectively move "Towards a sustainable use of GPUs in Graphics Research" with @elie-michel.bsky.social @axelparis.bsky.social Octave Crespel and Felix Hähnlein
MOTIVATION
Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) are at the core of Computer Graphics research. These chips are critical for rendering images, processing geometric data, and training machine learning models. Yet, the production and disposal of GPUs emits CO2 and results in toxic e-waste [1].

METHOD
We surveyed 888 papers presented at SIGGRAPH (premier conference for computer graphics research), from 2018 to 2024, and systematically gathered GPU models cited in the text.

We then contextualize the hardware reported in papers with publicly available data of consumers’ hardware [2, 3].
