Just the most recent in a series of events that have been hard to take. But I’m surviving. Barely. But surviving, nonetheless. I have school next week on campus. I hope that gives me some respite. PS Buddy’s cancer was totally unrelated to the symptoms he was having. Just one of those things.

I’m here. Just having a hard time lately. I had to put down my dog, Buddy the Doberman yesterday. I took him to the emergency vet because I thought he was having a stroke, but it turns out his lungs were full of cancer. No prior warning. No symptoms. He was 9 years old. RIP ole Buddy.

That’s a whole other Oprah. The boys are with me in Idaho. The warden is in Seattle fixing up grandma‘s house to rent. I’m looking for property in Prescott or Flagstaff Arizona. Nobody’s going to college for a year. And I just quit my job at Gonzaga. So pretty good all things considered.

My unpopular view is that most 'independents' in red and purple states rn are in fact Rs. But the brand is toxic so 'independent' sounds safer. When you push on positions....in practice, that's what it gets to.

Oh, man. 15 books in 15 weeks. One short reflection paper, plus responses to my classmates per week. Plus a final 20 page paper. And that’s just one class. The other has me reading Plato, Kant, Bentham, and Nietzsche, and looking up the meaning of deontological every time I sit down to write.

I finished my short paper on Bentham and utility based on the reading of Principles of Morals and Legislation (1789). Then we had a Zoom lecture, and I found out Bentham's views are just a prelude to reading John Stuart Mill on Utilitarianism. Down another rabbit hole. #WhenDoesItEnd 😅
