unironically i think more ppl would be aware of the safety risks if the safety equipment came paired w the bike or at the very least ppl were required to demonstrate they purchased that equipment before or with the bike bc the thing is, as a pedestrian, the adults are doing it too

the thing is ebikes behave more like motorcycles and i think age gating them would be sort of stupid on account of the fact that the main reason they exist is to keep up with the current unwalkable infrastructure that'd take yrs to change. at the very least they should require helmets be included
