It is so, so bizarre that the core of Trump’s policy agenda is based on just lying about how tariffs work at the most basic, 101 level imaginable. It’s not controversial. It’s not even complicated. It’s just a lie. It’s like saying income taxes are paid by leprechauns.

It is utterly ridiculous how fragmented and limited parental control tools are. And the response you get asking on forums is appalling: "just talk to your kid" "be a parent" etc. etc. Let me be exceptionally clear to the "just be a parent" crowd: you have *no idea* what an ODD kid needs.

I do *not* understand retail coffee prices near me - my target price used to be around $5/12 oz (around 0.40/oz) as a good price for ~reasonable coffee, and I've been seeing that *regularly* for stuff on sale a ton. I can't remember seeing B1G1 Starbucks sales and now it's 3 times in the past month.

see, lawyers, this is how you do it. (today is particularly frustrating, so my documentation reflects that).
"1.1 Two Fucking NO OPs???

Xilinx randomly lists two commands as “Type 1 NOOP Word 0”:

1. CmdBuf[cmdindex] = 0x02000000U; /* Type 1 NOOP Word 0 */

2. CmdBuf[cmdindex] = 0x20000000U; /* Type 1 NOOP Word 0 */

According to the documentation the second one is correct. I think the first one was just a dumbass mistake, but it gets skipped over since it's not a real command anyway, so it acts like a NOOP."

SpaceX is going to absolutely *blow past* their Starship HLS delivery deadline, probably by years: so when you see them rail against "regulatory overreach" and "stuck in a reality where it takes longer to do the government paperwork" (to blow up rockets), they're laying the basis for an excuse.

The most frequently asked question that I get about JWST images is: "Why do the stars look like that?". In other words: why are the stars "spikey"? A 🧵on JWST diffraction spikes. 🔭🧪 The full infographic can be downloaded here: webbtelescope.org/contents/med... 1/
At the bottom left of this vertical image are the thickest regions of brown and rusty red gas and dust. There are many layers of semi-transparent gas and dust overlaying one another. A peak rises about a third of the way from the bottom, and becomes far darker brown with two bright red areas toward the tip. The light brown dust becomes more diaphanous about halfway up the screen. There’s a slight gap in the dust, which allows the blue background to come into view clearly. About 60% of the background in this image is set in shades of blue and littered with tiny yellow and blue stars. The brown pillars continue, taking the shape of a shoulder at the base, with three prominent columns rising out toward the upper right. The top left pillar is the largest and widest. The peaks of the second and third pillars are set off in darker shades of brown and have red outlines.

They're not "becoming" anything. Intelligence tests in the US *began* as racist tools, and spawned the ideas that Nazis latched onto. It ain't surprising that the only people who keep talking about their IQ end up having the same ideas.
