I'm gonna be taking a small break from Bluesky. I've got art and animation to focus on. I'll be logging off until I'm ready to come back.

Invented by Hiroshi Horiuchi at the height of the 80's home robotics trend, Robie gave kids who wanted a little robot a much simpler treat - if you put a coin in his hand and pressed down, he'd wake up, look at his treat, gobble it down, and chomp with gusto before licking his robotic lips.

A yellow cylinder, with legs, two arms, green eyes, and a red tongue. The free hand is posable is just strong enough to hold a pen; the big palm hand lifts in order to put the coin into his mouth.

I'm still working on revising the CRiTORA based on new character design knowledge I learned. I realized giving some of them accessories would convey their personalities better.

If I attempt long-form comics again, I might have each page go up to 3 panels, with one big panel and two smaller panels at most. Just spitballing right now.

[Zany Tigers] Yes, I'm separating the art from the artist for this illustration. These are my takes of the tigers from a certain cartoon that returned in March.

Confession: Happy Tree Friends caused me to start animating in Adobe Animate since 2012 and CartoonMania (now 320 Freleng Avenue) inspired me to take animation seriously in 2018. Both shows are why I animate the way I do.

2. The pilot will only feature the Interstellar Bundle (Starlight, Mizuki and Elio) and Suhana. I can't include the rest of the cast without making the episode feel cluttered, but do not worry, future episodes will feature the rest of the major cast! Still excited to work on the pilot. :)

Two things I want to make clear about the Dream Alliance pilot. 1. It will not be an animated adaption of the novelization. Originally the pilot was going to be an animated adaption of the novelization, but it was too long and cluttered to fit everything into one episode.

I need to start sharing my project's character designs again. Anyway here's some old faces you might remember and a group of new faces! #CRiTORA #CharacterDesign #DaydreamingBirdieArt

A large space cruiser and a nun-chuck-like creature. Prescott is from the Moon District and Nana is from the Meetup District.

Both characters were originally designed for the 2021-2022 iteration. Prescott was initially designed by StaleKale and Nana was based on an old Mixels OC I made in 2014.

A pink helicopter CRiTORA and a CRiTORA based on the Breman Town Musicians and barbershop quartets. I actually forgot what the current district for Heidi is (I usually don't forget these kind of details), but the Bremanshop Quartet are from the Art District.

Heidi Coptour was a character I made back in 2020, but I've brought back recently with design assistance from TrainGod2008. I like her design much better now and we've found a use for her again.

The Bremanshop Quartet I made last night. I've been thinking about barbershop quartets lately, thus I had to make one myself. These brothers don't have individual names yet, but I'll figure out names for them eventually.

Spent some time practicing rigging a hand in Blender. I still got a lot to learn, but my classes throughout this year have been beneficial.

Another thing I might as well announce: CRiTORA: Abnormal will now have a total of 15-16 episodes. What originally going to be Episodes 11 and 12 will now be split into two episodes. This is to ensure I don't rush the later episodes or try to cram too much into one 7-10 minute episode.

Speaking of the Dream Alliance pilot, it's most likely that I won't be able to realistically fit every major character in the pilot episode, but I promise that they'll make appearances in future episodes if the pilot is successful.

Quick tip for creatives: Whenever I animate or write something, I make sure to focus on the climax and ending first, then I do the beginning and the scenes in-between. It helps me not rush the ending. I learned this tip from a blog I read once.
