My main gripe isn't even about the train to the airport. It's the fact that if I want to go home to Scotland it's always cheaper to fly than it is to get the train. Return train over £100 easily. Return flights under £50. "I'm a bit broke so I had to fly instead of taking the train" is silly.

My return flight this morning was £16.03 Isn't it marvelous when people assume what applies in their geographic location applies to everyone else's location. I was pretty clear I'm talking about the UK, and we have budget flight operators and expensive trains. That was the point of the post. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That's outrageous. That's more than my entire trip, flights and transfers, and I'd have money left over. Ouch.

Basically you can't drive into Edinburgh Airport without paying, so there's no "free" way to pick someone up or drop them off, unless you pay a charge. I think a lot of UK airports are similar.

Ouch. This is one of the (many) reasons I don't drive. Drivers get fleeced. The fact they charge people just to pick up and drop off at airports is a crime.
