We've recorded @thedwshow.net List Makers on Top 5 Stories Featuring Religion for later this month! What do you think should be on our lists? We'll also be recording a Gin & TARDIS on Paradise Towers for Oct! In the meantime, our monthly show on A Town Called Mercy is out now!

As a side note on this one, I express my bafflement that fans bought the "series 7a/7b" thing, instead of rioting that the show had it's output halved, '80s style 🤣

The @pulltoopen.bsky.social randomiser clearly enjoyed @thedwshow.net July ep on Tomb of the Cybermen, taking the lads to Telos! A good discussion. Especially interesting to hear @futureboy.bsky.social's take as a newbie to this classic. As I said in July though, I just ENJOY this story! Banger!

As well as covering A Town Called Mercy, our monthly news segment looks at the new Tender document, a recent Big Finish announcement, and THAT Anneke Wills interview!

This month's @thedwshow.net is out, and we dive deep into A Town Called Mercy! Are the moral lessons here? If so, are they dealt with well? Or is it all just a bit of fun! We discuss! Plus plenty of September news, and a couple of short topics! Out now!

Writing an essay on this tonight. Because I was asked to. And I'm generous like that.

I'd never watched The X-Files before. Rob gave me a list of six episodes to sample. I watched them (plus one other!). And then we recorded a @thedwshow.net Alternate Galaxies episode on my reaction, and Rob's love of the show! Have a listen, and let us know your thoughts!

Whilst driving around earlier, I confess I started to think about what six episodes of Roswell I'd get Rob to watch, if we reversed the X-Files format for a @thedwshow.net Alternate Galaxies... I've got a hard four, I reckon......

In this episode I talk about the influence of The X-Files on other shows, and mention B5, but clearly I meant DS9's Dulmer and Lucsly... anagrams so obivous JNT would have been proud!

I've long considered Dalek Invasion of Earth my favourite Dalek story... and also my favourite Hartnell story. But the more I see of Daleks' Master Plan, the more I think that story could eclipse it. Something to ponder! Either way, both on my DW Top 10!

And now....

This scene surely ranks as one of Hartnell's best performances?

Thank you for saying this! The Mrs Troi episodes are pretty much all painful.

Exodus is one of my Top 5 NAs. Adventure. History. Scale the TV show could never have done. Old enemies. Nostalgia. I'm not sure these podcasters agree with me, though.... 😂

The decline in IMDB ratings for this season does suggest to me that one (maybe two) experimental episodes in a season is fine, but 4 in a run of 5 was too much for too many (myself included, sadly). FWIW I would have Human Best Friend down as my 2nd least favourite ep of Trek!

Remember that period (of about 30 years) where DWM insisted of calling certain stories "100,000 BC", "The Mutants", and "Inside the Spaceship"?! Gosh that was funny 😆

That’s a good question! Does anyone know!?

That order is pretty hard to argue with. Maybe TP4 above Moonbase?

This was an interesting listen from @toohot4tv.bsky.social, but mostly confirmed my few that the Valeyard is maybe an interesting concept, but not actually a very interesting character. Also, Dylan's plot summary of Trial of the Valeyard had be chuckling in great amusement at how wanky it sounded!
