Really enjoying @flightthroughentirety.com 500 Yr Diaries on Terry Nation, who I've LONG argued is undersold by fandom. Lovely to hear chats on 2 (IMO) very underrated stories. Neither a classic, but both WONDERFUL adventures! & I agree with @simonmoore.bsky.social; s11 opening credits are the best!

I remember seeing VHS tapes of the War of the Worlds spin off series at the Video Library next to the Trek tapes as a kid, & being curious... but never hired them! So very interesting to hear @quiteamess.bsky.social & @toohot4tv.bsky.social chat about them on Too Hot for TV!

I've long considered Dalek Invasion of Earth my favourite Dalek story... and also my favourite Hartnell story. But the more I see of Daleks' Master Plan, the more I think that story could eclipse it. Something to ponder! Either way, both on my DW Top 10!

The decline in IMDB ratings for this season does suggest to me that one (maybe two) experimental episodes in a season is fine, but 4 in a run of 5 was too much for too many (myself included, sadly). FWIW I would have Human Best Friend down as my 2nd least favourite ep of Trek!

Re-watched DS9 "Valiant" after a podcast I listen to TRASHED it; I still think it's a great ep. The dive into how intense team structures & loyalties can be warped into something unwholesome & dangerous is really powerful. Only DS9 would wipe out the cadets, as well. Academy could learn from this.

I know my view that Dalek Invasion of Earth is THE best Dalek story* is not fashionable, & many fans kick Richard Martin for this for reasons I don't understand. So was delighted that @flightthroughentirety.com's 500 Yr Diary was very fair on this... even praising the location work (rightfully!)

I appreciate how diligent @pulltoopen.bsky.social were in finding the good intentions behind Underworld. BUT I have to judge what's on screen, & it's still my pick for worst classic story of DW! Chief Ogron ranking! But yes, the Time Lord idea is interesting. But WTF *are* the Seers meant to be?!
