Members of the History Faculty are deeply saddened to learn of the news of the death of Professor David Abulafia (1949-2026). David is remembered for his innovative and wide-ranging scholarship on the Mediterranean sea and region in the medieval and early modern periods, and his warm collegiality.
David Abulafia was Professor Emeritus of Mediterranean History and a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge.
