I ran into Topher again yesterday. Saw him a few weeks ago when I showed him this. He wasn't aware, laughed and said his wife feels the same about him. "I know you don't drink, but next time you're here you should walk into the brewery and say, 'Hey guys, I hear you have a beer named after me!"

Thinking about my old pal Mark Saunders on his memorial bench overlooking the lake. He lived just around the corner from this park. Every year he would be out there, at the 15k mark of The Lake Monona 20k, offering beer. He was a Hash House Harrier. Drinkers with a running problem.

I ran the annual Lake Monona 20k today. I wasn't really prepared for the distance but steadily pushed through my lack of training. I started running this race back in 1984 (I was a little faster back then), only missing one year due to injury. So today's event marked my 42nd race around the lake.

A hawk swooped down from above and all the little birds at the feeder scattered. Two cardinals hit the window. The female didn't make it, but the male came to and eventually flew away. I feel it was mourning the loss of its mate.

The Banana with nothing but the words Rutle Corps. Those in the know would "get it". You could sell 'em on the Archives site!
