Not sure I’ve ever seen this one before. Investigating a suspected valve cover gasket leak only to find that every single valve cover bolt is halfway out and not even finger tight. How does that even happen? How is that a thing?

Before SUV's (and remote heads), there was a company called "ShotMaker" and they had a fleet of converted Ford Vans, Trucks, and cabovers that were basically the only option. When camera operators and focus-pullers no longer had to ride on the cranes with the camera, the SUV's took over.

There's not so much a central repository, but each company that provides them has a fleet that includes purposed based cars. I've used Cayennes (the most popular), Trackhawks, and Range Rovers most often, but there are also plenty of sedan and super-car options available as well.

We still have one of these in town, but it's mainly used for shooting plate shots, which don't require good sound and are basically just background VFX material.

...started showing up, it was very easy to create the same smooth suspension while also having impressive acceleration and speed, rendering most of the older camera cars obsolete. This is one of the vehicles we use now, which can also take a crane and an arm, with remote camera head.
