Iran is not at war with the USA. This whole war is a staged exercise to supercharge poorly-audited defense spending and enrich Russian and Iranian governments with oil price gouging. If you remember the low-gas prices from Trump's first term, this is the other part of the quid pro quo.

I don't buy, as the Atlantic posited, that Trump was suprised by gas prices going up as a result of his war in Iran. Trump has represented Russian interests BEFORE U.S. interests on many occasions. Iran get the billions of dollars from gas price increases, Russia and Trump get their war money.

I read this quote a decade ago in the book, “The News: a Users Manual” and it stuck with me enough that I went back to find it. In short, it posits that a would-be dictator could suppress the news or flood the zone with a tsunami of nonsense. By either strategy, it kills people’s resolve to act.
