#Birds #SparrowSunday A juvenile White Crowned Sparrow, taken 2 weeks ago. It's -5C (23F) this morning, cold enough to finish off the last of the winged insects. The songbirds have left for warmer climes & I am missing them already.

A bird, mostly light brown, is perched on a slender, leafless branch. The bird faces right, against a background of gold & green. The sunlight coming from the left, shines on its back. It has a rust coloured crown, dark eyeline, greyish neck, brown streaks over a tan back, dark brown flights with hints of white on the tips and, dark brown tailfeathers.

The 8 NE Wales parkruns welcomed 1061 participants (-34 on last week for 7 events; +56 on last year for 7 events) and 188 volunteers supported it all. The weather forecast & a big local marathon impacted attendance. We had fun though & the rain stayed away! #parkrun #running
