And then there’s Asia. Better than Africa, Australia, and South America but still in need of help.

The next big chunk is from North America (don’t mind Europe trying to invade at the bottom there). By North America I mean the US. I’ve only read one book from Canada. Canadian friends I need recommendations. South America, Africa, and Australia are looking mighty thin too. 😫

Europe has the lion’s share. Not too surprising considering the number of countries included. Though let’s be honest, most of the books are from England and France. I blame my degree for that fact.

I’ve pulled everything off the shelves, labeled the inside back covers with the author’s country and the year of publication, and then divided them up by continents.

I know this is anxiety talking, making my mind fixate on something it can change and control in my environment, but it has hijacked my brain. I did have them by country a few years ago and it worked well.

I’ve come to the realization that I do not read as diversely as I’d like (I tend to gravitate towards British authors). My brain grabbed onto the idea of reorganizing the books by country instead of just author and will not let this go.

I‘m reading ‘Perfume’ by Patrick Suskind and have just learned that the main character’s name, Grenouille, means frog. 🐸

All part of the fun of living rurally. 🤪

So another week and a half of anxiety over whether my boobs are brewing up breast cancer or are just building architectural structures for shits and giggles.

Just received another call rescheduling my appointment to the 13th. Turns out the machine needed for the test needs more rep than expected and that’s the soonest they can get me in.
