Alright, back here after months in the Linkedin wilderness, burnt out by the unrelenting spate of announcements and delighted-to-shares.* Curious to see what the conventions of conversation here are, currently. *(This, as someone who does a lot of delighted sharing)

One way to understand the nature of legal work is to ask how the jurist becomes oriented towards their materials. What draws us in or excites us, what leaves us unmoved or repels us - (1/n)

Have had the most joyful time exploring how the lecture-performance might reshape how we teach, feel, and think about law. Last week I shared ‘Much to do with Law, but More to do with Love’ at the narrm ngarrgu library: part queer legal history, part personal storytelling, part staged feeling.

Dawning realisation about writing, more than a year out from finishing my PhD: it’s never going to be easy, at least not if it’s also going to be good. It might get easier with practice, maybe, but each new piece comes with its unique set of seemingly insurmountable psychic challenges. Oh well.

I keep hearing that every incumbent party has lost power in recent elections worldwide but that's not true at all. Claudia Sheinbaum of Morena won the presidency in Mexico with even bigger margins (30+ points) than AMLO. She did it with leftist populism so I guess that doesn't count.
This image presents election data with the following details:

Turnout: 61.05% (a decrease of 2.38 percentage points).

Nominee: Claudia Sheinbaum (MORENA) and Xóchitl Gálvez (PAN).

Alliance: Claudia Sheinbaum represents "Sigamos Haciendo Historia," and Xóchitl Gálvez represents "Fuerza y Corazón por México."

Popular vote: Claudia Sheinbaum received 35,924,519 votes, and Xóchitl Gálvez received 16,502,697 votes.

Percentage: Claudia Sheinbaum secured 61.18%, and Xóchitl Gálvez secured 28.11%.
