One of the many bad things to come out of the Elizabeth Holmes case is that it kept "body language experts" in business for a few more years to come. Oh, yes please: *do* tell me more about how you were uniquely qualififed to detect sinsiter mannerisms from this convicted criminal.

Argentina scoring two goals in four minutes to clinch a place in the next round thanks to a shitty refereeing decision? That would be a bit too 1986 for my liking.

I'm watching Scotland v Haiti on my laptop because others in the house are watching the basketball on the big screen. I don't follow NBA, but honestly, from what I can see, there are more ad breaks than actual gameplay. How and why do you all stand it?

If we can't get Tate some serious prison time (instead of, you know, giving him millions of dollars and access to senior figures in government and business), we're failing as a society. If we want to make amends for failing to bring Epstein to justice, this would be a step in the right direction.

Guys, don't @me, but I'm beginning to think that it *is* possible to have too much discourse based on a 2-minute trailer for a film.

"I wonder what 'Michael' would be like had it been motivated by anything other than the avarice of people already grotesquely engorged from feasting upon the corpse of their dead benefactor." I love to read Walter Chaw's reviews, even when they're about films I have no intention of ever watching.

I am enjoying being told to cool down the temperature of the politic rhetoric by acolytes of the guy who last week was threatening, like it was just another item on his whimsical to-do list, to wipe out an entire civilisation.

Is everyone seeing a lot of ads for 'Soulmate Sketch' scams (I assume they're scams because THERE'S LITERALLY NO ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATION), or did I do/say something weird that dropped me down that particular algorithmic rabbit-hole?

Why are there so many fake, presumably AI-generated books about One Battle After Another (the one I inspected doesn't mention the film at all, btw) on Amazon? They need to clean up their slop, ASAP. Users can't report them as fast as scammers can create them.

If you thought the space deniers were rampant on YouTube and TikTok and the like, you should take a look at Chinese social media. My god, they're everywhere, like it's a patriotic duty to deny that Americans could ever pull it off.

Watching Werckmeister Harmonies and Sátántangó in particular was transformative for me. Thank you, Béla Tarr (1955 - 2026).

They're testing driverless taxis in my neighbourhood of Shanghai. I just saw one stopping in a no-stopping zone (which the human taxis do *all the time*) and then getting stuck trying to do a u-turn in a crossroads that had roadworks in the middle of it. It made me wonder how police pull them over?

What happened to targeted ads? I see mostly adds for crypto, AI, "digital assets", and other shit that I never go for, often report as scams, and usually flag as 'not relevant'. And they keep coming. Are they desperate, or is this a positive sign that they don't know enough about me?

Can anyone explain why you would steal the crown jewels from the Louvre? How do they expect to sell them? If they're just going to sell the gemstones, they're not worth nearly as much without the history.

“Childhood Immunizations
The President launched a major childhood immunization effort to increase the number of children who were being immunized. Since 1993, childhood immunization rates have reached all-time highs, with 90 percent or more of America's toddlers receiving critical vaccines for children by age 2.
Vaccination levels are nearly the same for preschool children of all racial and ethnic groups, narrowing a gap estimated to be as wide as 26 percentage points a generation ago.

Motor Voter Registration Signed
The Clinton Administration made it easier for millions of Americans to register to vote by allowing registration at the same time they get a driver's license. The Motor Voter law led to the registration of more than 28 million new voters, more registered voters than the passage of the 26th Amendment, which lowered the voting age to 18 years. (PL 103-
31, signed 5/20/93).
Clinton-Gore Deficit Reduction Plan Enacted Passed without a single Republican vote, the Clinton-Gore Administration's economic plan established fiscal discipline by slashing the deficit in half — the largest deficit reduction plan in history while making important investments in our economic future, including education, health care, and science and technology research. This legislation also extended the life of the Medicare Trust Fund by three years. Fiscal discipline established by the Clinton-Gore Administration has turned the largest deficits in our country's history into the largest surplus. (PL

An AI-generated image of Donald Trump as Kilgore from Apocalypse Now, i.e. a draft dodger cosplaying as a war criminal to threaten Chicago with military occupation by government troops and, perhaps accidentally, jovially aligning his administration with chemical weapons.

I have no interest in the Snow White remake, but what it has brought (algorithmically, no doubt) to my attention is the scale and ferocity of a mob of "anti-woke" YouTube accounts, much of their content AI-generated and unwatchably inane. A media ecosystem designed for views, not discourse.
