Thore Hansen, one of the rare old masters in modern Norwegian illustration died today at 85. Take a minute and check out his Skogland covers and the work he did for Itras By. I requested to learn from him by mail for the past year but he was always too ill. He's most known for his children's books.

This piece SLAPS! I was just looking for reference images for a "cloud-face". I might take some notes from this. In Scandinavian 80's, those same pulp horror epics were usually translated and printed in two volume hardcovers, the covers we're never as cool as the American originals.
