Why is it that when you start a task with a coding agent everything seems to go well, but then suddenly it spirals into slop territory producing horrible code?

I'm thinking about creating a new podcast (for the lack of a better word) called "Go Live Fridays". The goal is to do a 40 min to 1 hour conversation with one developer about the things they care about and, hopefully, are not going live with them on a Friday! (see what I did there?)

I've been wanting to play with YouTube for a while. To start, I recorded this small video showcasing my workshop at GopherCon LATAM 2026 that happened a couple of weeks ago. It is short but hopefully it captures all the fun we had building games with Go, Gemini and Antigravity! youtu.be/i_5uKHL7sR4

If you want to build AI agents in Go, where do you actually start? In Part 3 of "Gemini for Go Developers", I wanted to see how each option feels in practice. To test them, I built the same multi-tool agent across all three stacks 🧵👇

"I know kung fu." - actually, I don't. But my coding agent does! Every time Antigravity loads a skill on demand, I immediately think about the classic scene in The Matrix where Neo has kung fu "installed" into his brain. 🧵👇

Writing a basic agent loop in Go takes 20 lines of code. Building a production agent takes a deliberate architecture. In Part 3 of "Gemini for Go Developers", we dissect agent mechanics and build a Retro Game Appraiser across three Go paradigms:

[1/8] I believe this generation can master software engineering orders of magnitude faster with AI, but only if you use it the right way. First, let's think about how people learned engineering before AI. For me, it all started with a single question: how do video games draw things on screen? 🧵

Whenever a new model lands, I have a ritual: revisit past projects and give them a full glow-up. This weekend with Gemini Flash was pure hyperfocus across 5 codebases. Near-zero wait times kept me in total flow. (Or it might be my ADHD, but I still blame Flash! ⚡) 🧵

I hope you will appreciate the irony in this finding. I just found out there is an official MCP server for the Agent Skills Spec. This server enables agentic consumption of the spec to create skills... Then I realised: what about MCP? Do we have an MCP server for it? No! Wait for it...

"Slop" is the defining insult of this tech cycle. It’s a useful word, but should we use it to dismiss a whole new category of art without consideration? History says no. Every major technological shift in art triggers the same reaction. Read the full essay: danicat.dev/posts/202607...

Small update on the Megadrive *rally game* ? I added sprites and did some optimization so CPU is still at 70% usage with a stable 60 fps. I'm a bit disappointed by the sprite width limit per-line. I wanted a lot more dense vegetation but it's not possible with sprites. I'll try other methods.

How do you feel about AI voiceovers in HUMAN-generated content? Every talk I do there is always someone asking: is it going to be recorded? Which often the answer is no for several reasons. I would still write the script but it won’t be my voice… how do you feel about this?

Everyone thinks AI changed the whole software engineering pipeline to just: Prompt ➡️ Merge ➡️ Deploy. But AI only does one thing: Implementation. If you skip gathering requirements, testing, security, and monitoring just because an LLM wrote the code you are just generating tech debt faster.

Among other things, I spend the last 8 hours banging my head against AGY CLI so you don't have to do so. I'm particularly frustrated with the plugin system, as it is nothing as robust as Gemini CLI extensions. Importing hooks and sub-agents failed completely.
