This is the guy -- an academic, no less -- who claimed that the Greens haven't been speaking out about climate. This is easily disprovable. I pointed to the emergency press conference which Polanski called (which was ignored by the media). So he blocked me.

Lucy Powell here giving the game away, writes about 'colleagues' rather than 'comrades'. I suspect there's two reasons for this. Firstly, the language of solidarity sticks in her throat, but secondly that the people in the crowd are mainly Labour employees or representatives, not members.
Skeet from Lucy Powell MP above a composite of nine pics of groups of Labour campaigners out in the disastrous for them by election in Gorton and Denton. Above it she has written 'loads of teams out today in Gorton and Denton, here's a very small selection featuring colleagues.'

Jamie Driscoll Joins Green Party as Newcastle Greens Build for 2026
17 December 2025 by Green Party

Newcastle Green Party has today welcomed Jamie Driscoll to the party, as local Greens continue to build momentum ahead of the all-out city council elections in May 2026.

Jamie Driscoll, former Mayor of the North of Tyne Combined Authority, said he has joined the Green Party because its values align with his own and because he sees it as a serious force in fixing Britain’s problems.

Jamie Driscoll said:

“Britain’s a mess. British politics is a mess and it’s not the fault of immigrants. Food prices, energy prices, housing prices are all too high. Our economy isn’t working for workers, it isn’t working for small businesses. It doesn’t have to be like this. I’m joining the Green Party because I see an organisation that’s serious about running our country in the long-term interests of all our people.”

Driscoll joins a growing team of Green campaigners and councillors who are working year-round to deliver real change for communities across Newcastle.

As if by magic. Thing is, we in GPEW do need to be wary about our own version of this process. Electing Zack rather than Adrian helped a lot, but there are going to be big structural forces pushing us towards opportunism, we need to resist them.

A picture by the late Donald Rouum from the 'Wildcat'cartoon which appeared in the anarchist magazine _Freedom_. A blank block is mounted on wheels. Either side, cartoon figures push towards the middle, above are two signs. On the left are different anarchist archetypes push 'towards the free society', on the right, authoritarian and fascist archetypes push 'towards the repressive society'. The block appears to be stationary. On the top, a little girl asks the anarchists "Why not stop pushing?"
