Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 13/12/2025Very interesting! It made me ask ChatGPT "How often are you asked for help about the R package crosstable? Where are the main questions and from what country do they come?" The answer was interesting, although I don't really trust it 😅 010
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Nice, I use that a lot too 👍 Here is how I write it: dta_transcript_merged <- dta_transcript |> summarise(text=toString(text), .by=c(idea_snippet, idea_theme)) toString collapses with a comma, though. 010
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Same here. Also, I'm using more and more cli::format_inline() instead of glue() and its an absolute gem. I hope they will merge the 2 in the future. 020
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 17/11/2025I'd prefer this, but having to pipe factor() then fct_recode() is a bit much. I'll probably have to use a custom helper then. 020
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 17/11/2025Hey #Rstats! What is your favorite #tidyverse way to turn a logical into a factor? I'm using `factor(ifelse(x, "Yes", "No"))`, but it feels a bit ugly, and `fct_recode()` doesn't work on logicals. 121
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 06/11/2025Great, thanks for the information, I should be cautious then! 000
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 06/11/2025Oh great, this means I can test it right now 🤩 I have some data privacy constraints on some projects, and I'm wondering about the "code search" step. If I'm using this, say with OpenAI, would all the code in my project get sent to the server? 100
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 06/11/2025Whoa, this seems life-changing! So we cannot use it yet on regular RStudio until we have the side panel, right? Do you know whether this feature release is expected soon? 110
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 24/10/2025I think you nailed it, "I need to spend less time with my computer and more time with people." 😂 011
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 24/10/2025Interesting, but I'm not sure I understood correctly. We should not use 42 because students and AIs will think it is the "only right value"? Because in actual problems, you either replicate or cross-validate your simulations, so I'm not sure how the seed can lead to incorrect results. 100

Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 30/09/2025Nice! What feature do you love especially, compared to flextable or gt? I was considering adding a tinytable output in my {crosstable} package, but I'm curious about what it brings. 100
Dan Chaltiel @danchaltiel.bsky.social · 30/09/2025This has been asked github.com/rstudio/rstu..., but unfortunately the issue was closed for inactivity before being addressed.
