RIP to Pete Byrne, singer with Naked Eyes. As 80's Techno Pop they weren't as cool as Human League or Eurythmics or as inventive as OMD or as epic as the Spoons second album but this was a nice melodramatic romantic ballad; 🎹 www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVrE...

This day in 1922; The release of "Haxan". Not sure this is really a great film. There's no real plot, the "documentary" parts (clearly tacked on to avoid a ban) are dull, too long & pretentious. But the visuals! No matter how Goth or Metal you think you are somebody's Grandparents were there first;

During the Depression Ontario's new Liberal Premier Mitch Hepburn closed the Lieutenant Governor's opulent palace Chorley Park and auctioned off it's lush furniture then sold the building. That was pretty popular. It didn't get demolished until the 60's though.

I remember when Toronto City Council banned street posters for gigs and political rallies etc because they said they were ugly and distracting to drivers. In fact I organized resistance to those bans and testified at two of the hearings. And 20 years later this Temu "Blade Runner" slop is OK?

One if the unintended by products of this idiocy is Greenland is now less likely to go for independence. It was planned they would do so in the next decade or so but now they have to fear if they did they'd be swiftly annexed and Denmark is the only protection they have. Trump got less than nothing.
