Across that work, Jan has brought computational methods into biomedical research. In dAIbetes, he coordinates a team working to develop virtual twin models that could help predict how people with type 2 diabetes respond to different treatments. 3/4

Before taking up his role in Hamburg, he held research positions at UC Berkeley, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and the Technical University of Munich. He also leads a Computational BioMedicine group at the University of Southern Denmark. 2/4
