Looking across the north end of Aird’s Lake, just after sunrise. The sun is colouring the sky pale yellow on the left. The lake is completely smooth and reflects the trees on the shoreline perfectly. It’s cold; mist rises from the water, giving everything a dreamy feeling.

Tonight at Critical Mass a woman got out of her SUV and planted herself, holding her newborn, in the middle of a stream of cyclists to petition us to let her turn left so she could get her baby to sleep (we let them turn). Imagine doing that with cars.

I feel bad for the motorists who had to wait while we rode along Danforth for Critical Mass tonight, but they could have just taken side streets.
