I haven't posted anything for a while, so here's some new #paleoart for #FossilFriday: Cetiosaurus in a Middle Jurassic landscape. I've had to compose and execute this in just two days, so hopefully it looks OK! (All data for the plant recons comes from @palaeojules.bsky.social.) #dinosaur #sciart

Say hi to Praearcturus gigas. This Devonian arthropod from Britain's identity had been in dispute for ages, but a new study reinterpreted it as a giant scorpion. Though the fossil is fragmentary, the estimated size is about 1 meter long. This is one bug you want to ride into battle. #Art #SciArt
A landscape image showing mostly water with patches of elevated land. A big scorpion sits idly, with pincers close to its face, near some rocks by the water. In the distant foreground are Prototaxites, towering trunk-like structures scattered on the elevated land patches.

Yes, I understood, it was in referral to the main builders, not the family itself. Ironically other bivalves took (But of course to very low extent) the reefal role after the TOAE in the region, namely the Ctenostreon bioherms [Pending Publication but teased previously in thesis]

I fully understand, no worries. Yes, I´ve seen "OZ" section and similar (Ex. Douar Tafraout) intra TOAE bioherms and is factual the extinction.
