Happy #FossilFriday! Specular #fossils of #Brachylophosaurus have been discovered in the #Cretaceous Judith River Formation of #Montana. This is a complete skull (#MOR794) and a section of skin impressions (#MOR1071 8-98-003) from this duck billed #dinosaur.

The MOR #Paleontology Field Crew is back from exploring the #Cretaceous #HellCreek Formation in Makoshika State Park in #Glendive, #Montana. Staff and students uncovered the fossils of ancient plants, #turtles, crocodiles, and #dinosaurs that roamed the region at the end of the Age of #Dinosaurs.

Happy #FossilFriday! This is the skull of Nakanonectes (MOR 3072), one of the last plesiosaurs to cruise the Western Interior Seaway in the Cretaceous Period. With a mouth full of needle-like teeth, it ate small fish and cephalopods. #[bit.ly/4sp4wIE

Happy #FossilFriday! The seaway that covered much of North America in the #Cretaceous was filled with giant carnivorous #reptiles. #Mosasaurus (#MOR006) and other mosasaurs had a second set of #teeth on the roof of the mouth that helped hold struggling prey.

Happy #FossilFriday! The tiny bones inside this partial egg (#MOR246) belong to an embryonic #dinosaur. Originally identified as #Orodromeus, later study identified them as #Troodon bones. Orodromeus & Troodon are found in the #Cretaceous Two Medicine Formation of #Montana.
