Any time you wear Harry Potter clothing, or loudly proclaim your love for it in public, or go to the theme parks or watch the new tv show or buy the books... it signals you are a danger to trans people. It's perhaps the only thing transphobes and trans people agree on!!

They’re lovely in an odd sort of way. They make me think of Camp Miasma for some reason… maybe it’s just the combo of sex and blood, but it feels like something in the mood as well. 🤷‍♀️ Who am I to say, you wrote it, I’ve always been a lousy wordsmith, they never live up to the thoughts in my head.

When you add in Spock as an actual alien, Bones from the American south, & Scotty, the Star Trek crew was very diverse. And yes, some of them did wind up somewhat caricatured due to the writing and studio guidelines, but the intent was there.

Roddenberry envisioned a utopian future for Earth. Uhura, Sulu, & Checkov were all controversial characters at that time. An African American woman during the Civil Rights era, an East Asian man in living memory of WWII, Korea, & Vietnam, & a Russian man during the Cold War. All respected crew.

While I may still have trouble seeing it in myself, I seem to have reached a point where I can pass in public. I stand and am proud to be trans because when I was younger there weren’t folks out there being allowed to be publicly trans. It was considered a shameful thing to hide. It shouldn’t be.

Today was National Coming Out Day. So today I say once again, I am a transgender woman who is attracted to other women. Four years ago I made a social media post to friends and family announcing I was trans. I’d already spent the year before that struggling with the realization and accepting it.

Public Statement on the Settlement Between the Department of Justice and
UPMC Regarding Gender-Affirming Care
The Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations condemns the settlement between the
U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

While the continued anonymity and privacy of the children and families who have utilized gender-affirming services at UPMC facilities is paramount, a ten-year moratorium on gender-affirming care services for those age 19 and younger is a devastating blow to the community.
Pittsburghers should not have to leave their hometown medical hub to seek care.

Inequities in health care are already a guarantee for vulnerable populations; utilizing identity to restrict access to clinical intervention is not only discriminatory, but life-threatening. Statistics on the impact to youth in the LGBTQIA+ community are readily available and clearly show the risk of removing access to these services. If the safety of children was truly at the heart of this matter, giving families the right to choose what care is right for them would be at the forefront.

It is a violation of Pittsburgh's City Code to, "Refuse, withhold from, or deny to any person elective medical care which would normally be provided to a person, but for that person's real or perceived gender identity or gender expression." If you feel your rights have been violated, we urge you to contact our office.

Also, it one does manage to cohabitate with one’s polycule, one will need the ability to procure housing large enough to fit everyone. That tends to limit how much one can save of rent/mortgage.

Yeah, HRT is slow (excruciatingly so sometimes), but there are mental aspects of just being on the right hormones that cannot be understated. Dysphoria can hit harder once you’ve started transition, but it feels easier to deal with sometimes because of the mental changes.

The problem is the number of single issue voters in 2024 whose issue was Gaza did not convince the Democrats that it was an issue to care about. Instead the DNC took the conservative messaging that trans people had cost them the vote. And now they’re more concerned about punishing those voters.

There’s an ad that plays occasionally over the store music. It’s about how our store can help you “earn your Sunday” by getting chores and tasks done around the house. I find the concept vile. You don’t “earn” rest. That leads to the concept that one must “earn” the right to live.

One forgets how much they use their thumbs until one manages to get a sliver of wood (it was definitely too big to call a splinter) stabbed a quarter of an inch along the underside of one’s thumbnail into the nailbed. And now each reminder is annoyingly painful. Ow.

This reminds me of the old (supposedly debunked) dinosaur science that said that the big sauropods had a secondary brain like nodule around their hips. I wonder if sauropods had simply spacially separated the two types of brain, one in the head and one further down the spinal column.

Pretty sure they’re all the big ancient DNC consultants who have been advising Pelosi for decades. When they started they might have been slightly left, but now they’re centrists at best. The DNC definitely needs to stop being afraid of progress and embrace the DSA strategies.
