I fear "Scummy salesman pitch" is the internet most used design pattern right now.

There are so many plothole in this story that a visionary moviemaker could make a true masterpiece out of it. Something like David Lynch(🥲): The sinking of the Thunderbolt.

i cut my teeth as a coder writing perl, a language with a notoriously toxic community which i ended up witnessing from the inside for years, and which infamously shot itself in the foot when trying to design a future for it. here's a great essay about all of that www.beatworm.co.uk/blog/compute...

I loved it! It was such a Donneresque piece of cinema written by a true Superman lover (and Kevin Spacey' Luthor was spectacular). And yes, i loved also Brandon throughout all his Arrowverse era.

I abandoned Discovery after first season (it just didn't work for me) but I surprisingly appreciated its new "Status Quo" in Academy. In my opinion Academy universe could be a place where a real Star Trek New Deal could start. Obviously Paramount killed it to produce "Yet another Kirk story".

I liked this review a lot. Probably I didn't understand most of the subtexts as I'm not american but this analysis makes the movie way more clever than i thought seeing (and enjoying) it.

Thinking about this while watching For All Mankind s5 (five) finale. The series went from "accurately described lunar landing" to "space war using modified LEM" and most of the characters are now unbearable, but it's still written with so much respect for the audience it's still good to watch.

Too often we don't feel season 2 as part of the same project of season 1, it looks more like a way to exploit the lore of the first run. A TV product still need to appear as a big story slowly consumed year after year instead of a "more of the same" with confused connections between the big chunks.

In my opinion you don't "think about" stop writing. Sometimes you're not writing and that's it. Tomorrow you'll go back to it or not. It's never something you decide to do, it's always something you are doing or not.

How did I not know until today that Vincent made not one, but two Dr. Goldfoot movies? Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine and Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs are spy parodies with sort of beach party movie aesthetics. also, Mario Bava directed the sequel.
