glp meds made me feel icky and lethargic. did 15 pounds or so in 8 months so not useless but not my ideal. phentermine requires prep. need a comfy gym routine 4-5 days a week plus a commitment to home cooked protein forward dinners. really works for someone as naturally high strung as i am.

excited that i still have 2-3 pounds of muscle to re-train into, mostly in my legs at peak i was at 109 lean mass and i do so much mobility work to unfuck gamer hips that i don’t often lift heavy

realistic chance i hit 175 total weight loss by the end of this phentermine stint we’re at the halfway point, end of week 6, and i’m still dropping 2.5/week while growing muscle probably under 250 for the first time since i was 16 by the end of next weekend

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

The tech industry has learning that overhyping the threat of its products is great PR. It leads to tons of free press, and now it’s allowing them to shape the regulatory discussion of their products — while distracting from the real ways people are being harmed today disconnect.blog/the-media-ha...

Tech industry deception about the supposed threat of their generative AI tools is nothing new. It’s in fact a well-worn playbook. OpenAI was using it all the way back in 2019 when it released GPT-2. Claiming its new AI model was so incredibly powerful it posed a threat to society was a fantastic marketing ploy, allowing it to capture global headlines and get a ton of free PR. Now they’ve moved on to using it to shape the conversation around their products, but the media seems determined not to learn anything from their consistent pattern of deception.

i can’t tell you how often i gotta remind people to have an opinion when invoking randomness too curate your outcomes, you’re responsible for the range and you should have feelings about parts of that range which suck

Honestly I think like 50% of the Teams 101 course is just me saying this in 30 different ways with 15 different methods of making sure everybody on your team understands that decisions are made to be executed on, not argued about further, that's the whole-ass point of it being a decision.

went into a shop in LA and tried on a late 90s jurgen klinsmann spurs shirt was pretty pleased to fit into an XL, which is probably 10 more pounds from feeling normal then as I was all happy the dude unearthed a third kit in yellow from the same era that klinsmann had signed for them

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.
