Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I do sort of struggle to understand why so-called horror fans like Mike Flanagan’s stuff It seems to me that he just takes classics of the genre and turns them into bloated hopecore bullshit “I like horror, but I wish it was more wholesome” 220

Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Sorry, but going to see that new Looney Tunes movie is NOT a political statement. “Going to see this movie is a must for anyone who cares about the ongoing corporate ransacking of Hollywood” What if I don’t care about Hollywood? 010

Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Enjoyed Camp Miasma a lot, and think it’ll probably grow on me even more next time I see it (something I suspect doesn’t apply to I Saw the TV Glow). Wrankled by the style of humour though - ironic and self-satisfied - in way that feels distinctly LA to me. Please no more. 010

Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 12/06/2026If you turn an entire season of the modern show into one serial - sure, you *might* get ‘City of Death’ or ‘The War Games, but you might just as easily end up with ‘Monster of Peladon’ or ‘Invasion of Time’! At least with the modern show, if one week is crap you know the next one might not be! 000
Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 12/06/2026The “classic series” was serialised because it was a *serial*. It was on for 26 weeks of the year (40-50 weeks a year in the sixties!) - they had more episodes to play with! 200
Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Always baffled by ‘Doctor Who’ fans and their obsession with turning it into a serialised show. Like, the whole *point* is that you can go anywhere and do anything! Why would you throw away that variety?! 100

Reposted by Paulie ✨Elizabeth Sandifer @eruditorumpress.com · 22/05/2026Always down for criticizing the obsessive drive towards worldbuilding over fiction-writing. I’m admittedly not a fiction writer, but my sincere advice is to engage in made-to-order worldbuilding. When your story requires a decision, make it. Otherwise, don’t. 7487
Paulie ✨ @cursttraps.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Or maybe I’d get King* Charles to walk on stage in his daft hat and big cape, and then as all the racists are cheering, I say into his earpiece “lose the fuckin’ cloak your majesty”. He drops his cloak and he’s got fuck-loads of C4 strapped to his chest. That’d be good. 110
