Hey all! I've been woefully lax about promoting my stuff, so... Here are my books! You can currently get them for 10% off at my Square site with code FBM10 (mapakuvillage.square.site/s/shop) all this month. So now's a good time to pick one up if you've been considering it. :)
Row of Utunu's four book covers: Rafts, Far Flung, Tethers Torn, and Echoes.

Hard mode: do it as a furry writer. Ps, please give furry books a try! Reading can be wonderful fun when it's something that speaks to you. Also furry book month is in October, so there will likely be some deals...

Something I plucked out while on a spontaneous trip into the woods (it was raining pretty hard today): It’s pretty silly, but I tried to just let it all move from my senses through to my paws. I hope you enjoy 🌧️🍃
Picture of the return trip from my spontaneous wander into the woods. Looking down American Fork Canyon from Alpine Loop Road in Utah. The scenery is mountainous and shear, with conifer and deciduous trees dominated the landscape; The latter having just begun to turn red in patches in preparation for fall. In a matter of weeks this whole forest will become a painter’s palette of ochres, siennas, and oranges.

I've been working on this story for a few months, but I've hit a bit of a snag, plus school got really busy, so.... 🫠 I'm actually really eager to get back into this one 🏜️
Blurb from a story draft I'm working on:
"The trunk of the red SUV came shut with a clunk, license plate rattling as it slammed closed. The cheetah, laden with his day pack, turned right toward the trailhead, the blue-gray of twilight drawing away to let the sun bathe the terracotta hills and bluffs, which seemed, now, to glow a luminescent orange. The air was still cool, for the sun had not yet barred its wildness as it would later in the day. To deal with the cool, desert air, he wore a light jacket from his college track-and-field days. Well worn and well loved. Trevor began marching toward the trailhead, gravel crunching under his footpaws as he filled with anticipation.
He stepped by the trailhead marker and past a few paces, then pulled out his map, made a mental note that in about a half mile he would need to keep right toward Dolor Canyon to begin the looped trail. He made sure to power off his phone to conserve battery. It would not serve him well dead, even considering there was no reception out here in the desert swell. After taking a mental count of everything in his pack, the cat checked his watch for the time: half past six AM. Feeling adequately prepared and with bearings checked, he began up the slight grade of the trail.
The trail followed the bottom of a dry wash. Nothing spectacular, though the sturdy, odd, gnarled trees growing out of that wash intrigued him. The buzzing song of the apache cicadas tickled his ears, making them flick back. He followed the bare and bone-dry creek bed up into a large canyon, the junipers and more squat shrubs and grasses flanking the wash. Beyond that flat white hills hugged the whole ravine. The desolate, arid nature surrounded him and embraced him with its rugged beauty. Continuing up the large canyon, hints of the terrain ahead revealed themselves gradually: a sizable shear face of sandstone jutting out of the hills, layers upon layers of flaking sedimentary rock. He kept up the steady, gentle climb."

Just speaking into the void here, but I’ve been wondering why it’s been so difficult to do anything today for more than a few minutes at a time, then I realized that I haven’t taken my daily meth pills today; We’re just coasting on vibes, fumes, and whimsy today, I guess 🫠✨

(Thread incoming) It's easy to forget how recent the Holocaust was. Growing up, there were multiple people in my synagogue with tattoos on their arms from concentration camps. Some would share their stories, others refused to even decades later. The horror was tangible and never far away.

Trying to live authentically, even years after I have come out, has been a challenge and has been, at times, frustrating and terrifying. You are safe here no matter who you are and whether you’re out or not. You are allowed to celebrate quietly. Happy Pride!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

HAPPY PRIDE!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I hope all you fellow critters in all your forms can feel comfortable enough celebrating who you are!! I’m looking forward to this years pride month especially, given the rightward shift we’ve seen in the U.S. The apparent lack of corporate sponsorship will be refreshing, I think.

Using AI shows me you don't care enough to put your own effort into whatever it is you're doing, and I have no incentive to trust that anything else you do is your effort nor passion. Post-it note and coffee-stained napkin scribbles are how numerous great ideas started. Endearing and invaluable. 🥰

Another new song! Listen for free: www.patreon.com/posts/155220... The art (and name!) for this one are courtesy of @tabbiewolf.bluestripedboxers.com! #music #furrymusician
Drawing of an anthro coyote with grey and black fur sitting on a brown couch wearing teal pants, a maroon button up shirt partially undone, and a teal fedora with a green hat band. He is smoking a cigarette and smiling at the viewer. Next to him it says "Stray Songdog" in teal and then "Laundromat Confessional" in white against a black background.
