Repost with your home river. I lived next to the Indalsälven River until I was eight. Dad worked at one of the many hydropower plants along its course. Then we moved to an island in the Storsjön Lake, which Indalsälven feeds into and runs out of. The hydropower plants regulate its water level.

Will this headline-grabbing press release stop the share price decline? Probably not, no. There was another tranche of stock released with their financial report two days ago which caused a little rise which lasted until investors had read the report.

As far as high-rise tenement buildings with hundreds if not thousands of inhabitants go, at least this one has interesting architecture.

The remaining trunk - circa 3 meters tall at a guess - of a large dead tree, in a lush, green forest. There are signs of a break at the top, and the trunk is full of holes of various sizes.

Today we went to Glimmingehus, Sweden's best preserved medieval keep. The foundation stone was laid on May 2nd, 1499. Very cool architecture, good guided tour, and it gave me this scene, which I'm sure I've previously seen in Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This was 69.90 SEK, around £5.60, and they sell them at hobby stores, builder's merchants, garden centres, outdoor shops, and - in smaller, rural towns - grocery stores. It's high quality steel and comfortable to use. If you have a garden or do any kind of wood-based DIY, you'll own at least one.

Saw a funky car while out walking today.

It is very low, very rusty, with huge tyres and a big engine with the muskler and exhaust on top of the engine. On the door is written "Mad Mats", and the vehicle looks like it could have come from the set of Mad Max 2.

It is unclear how the driver can see to drive, since the exhaust stack is taller than the roof of the car.

Went to a nature reserve for a walk today, and in a forest with Sweden's largest population of "vresbok" a type of beech tree that gets all twisted up. The kind of trees that would make you till your eyes at the incomplete of the illustrator, should you encounter them in a book.

Sweden is even more extreme. As for funding to the northern two thirds of the country, why, hardly anybody lives there! Especially not away from the coast. (I grew up near the single blip inland in the north.)

I read this when I was ten or eleven, and found it really funny. I read it again as an adult, and still found it funny, but in a different way. It's a good book. "The good soldier Švejk" is the English title.

The seaside! I thought. No light pollution over the sea! Ideal Cometry conditions! Turns out there still was a bit of light pollution... (Also, my phone camera does not have a fancy night mode, but it does its best, even if that means capturing uncanny portals to ethereal dimensions.)

An almost full moon over the sea. There's a bright reflection of the moon on the water, and a gradient of the sky from pale grey-blue at the horizon to a black above the moon. There's a line of dramatically lit clouds a bit over the horizon, and over the moon there's a wide fuzzy red horizontal line. Possibly an artifact introduced by a camera struggling with too strong contrasts. Possibly an UFO.
