My Q3 bike stats are in, here's what I mostly did with my life from July 1 to yesterday. Road bike Orbea 2,970 km Cargo Bike (Taxi Oliver) 2,217 km Backup road bike 61 km Zwift 46 km There's also another approximately 315 km on a rental bike with trailer on holiday. Busy Q3 in the saddle.

We've reached the apathy portion of the Sounders downfall. I didn't even bother to watch the highlights. I'm on holiday but the apple deal makes it incredibly easy to watch or catch up on and I just can't be bothered. I am still wearing my Sounders hat while riding around the lake though.

I'm watching the Sounders on the shores of Lake Annecy, our Airbnb has a private beach where one of the shared houses decided to have a band tonight. Meanwhile the bar about 50 yards away has a singing DJ. It's a surreal viewing experience.

King's Day in Amsterdam is hard to explain. The Netherlands never has yard sales, but one day a year they are allowed: King's Day. The entire city becomes an open bar and the canals are so packed with boats you can practically walk across them.

It was -3C when I went on the school drop off via cargo bike, even I wore pants. Friday it's supposed to be 16C, the weather is crazy. That's 27F to 61F. Today was hopefully my last pants day of the year on the commute.

I was trying to explain to a friend back in Seattle just how far North Amsterdam is (52.4N) versus Seattle (47.6N) It's about the same difference as Seattle and Bandon Oregon 43.1N (almost Medford 42.3N, target is 42.8N) The biggest offshoot is that our winters are even darker than Seattle.
