The reason consumers steer away from anything with AI is cause we associated genAI with scams and low-quality garbage. If I learn a game used AI placeholders, I'm generally gonna avoid it as much as a game with AI in the final product. Not because there was AI, but because I assume it'll be slop /2

Developers, CEOs, and whoever else needs to hear this: DO NOT USE AI DURING CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT! Creatives tend to stick as close to the concepts as possible to keep the original vision. If AI is used in the concept art, your final product will have an AI feel. Same is true for placeholders. /1

During a recent interview with the Game Business, Rebel Wolves’ CEO and creative lead, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, said the game will not include AI (Artifical Intelligence), which is a bit of a hot topic today when it comes to game development.

He stated that, though they used gen-AI for the initial development, the final version of the game will be released without any of it, as the team plans to remove all AI placeholders used during development to ensure it releases with zero AI content.
